2022 was a wild year…
To say the least!
There were some major highs and major lows.
We thought it’d be nice to recap the year, go over our wins, and look forward to next year.
So let’s dive in!
Year in Review: A Look Back at the Highlights and Lowlights of 2022
The Bad
Let’s start with the not-so-great events of 2022. That way we can end on a high note!
It was a tough year for many.
The Covid-19 pandemic continued to affect us. Many businesses had to close or move to remote operations.
Conflict in Ukraine raged on, leading to difficult situations and tension between the warring sides and the world at large.
The macroeconomic environment was rough. High inflation and rising interest rates made it harder for individuals and companies alike to stay afloat — let alone thrive.
And to top it off, all three of these major events follow us into 2023.
But where there’s pressure, there are diamonds.
So what good came out of this year?
The Good
We had some HUGE wins this year. Not just with Undoor, but personally as well.
Here are a few highlights.
Real Estate Investing
We analyzed hundreds of deals, which was a daily commitment for us throughout the year. Consistency is the name of the game.
We did 6 transactions and added 3 properties to our portfolio — all without compromising quality or cutting corners.
On top of that, we successfully handled 3 tenant turnovers, completed 2 make-readies, and even managed an eviction.
We went through due diligence on a 30-unit syndication as a partner. Unfortunately, we pulled out because data on the property didn't line up.
And our investing success didn’t stop with us! We held 57 real estate coaching sessions — 3 of our students closed their deals!
Undoor
We’re working on a partnership deal right now!
And we launched a podcast — The Gentle Art of Crushing It.
I'm also currently working on a project that will change the game for real estate investors. Launching soon, stay tuned!
Family
We taught our 4-year-old how to ski.
We also took a month-long family vacation to France, which was an absolute blast!
Not to mention, we increased our net worth by $340k this year. Thank you real estate!
Personal
I learned how to play golf — hitting a total of 24k balls within the year!
With practice and hard work, I ended the year at a 14 handicap.
I made sure to exercise daily, lost 11 lbs, and even managed to cut my heart meds in half — I’m on my way to getting off them altogether.
My first year in a new W2 job was great. Working with fantastic people and talent, we’re about to ship game-changers with our efforts.
I also made countless meaningful and life-changing relationships this year.
Plus, I was able to have several date weekends with my wife — no kids allowed!
Thanks to my mom who traveled 6k miles just to give us a break!!!
All-in-all, 2022 was a year of massive strides.
Looking Forward
We’re excited to see what 2023 has in store!
We’ve got big plans for Undoor and our investments.
On a personal level, I’m looking forward to continuing to work on my golf game and becoming medication-free!
I also plan on taking more vacations with the family.
